Starting Up Stella! ~ for the 2023 season : )

For those who might be a bit confused, Stella is the name of the truck that hauls around our Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen. I know it's confusing. Sorry, but not sorry! You see, when we first purchased the truck that was going to be our street kitchen, we discovered she liked to throw us all sorts of curveballs. For instance, she likes to lock us out even if she has the keys inside. She also likes to not start her engine at the most inconvenient times. Early on in our relationship with Stella we found ourselves yelling at her like that iconic scene of Stanley Kowalski, played by Marlon Brando, yelling "STELLA!!!!!!!" with such emotional strife. That's us, every time Stella decides to do her Stells thang to us. We love her. To help, we have gotten some little voodoo keychain characters to help stave off the beguiling voodoo magic of our Stella (the truck).

What is Stella? She is a 2007 Chevrolet Work Horse Delivery truck. If anyone has any tips and tricks to help us deal with her, we would be happy to hear from you!

Anyways, it is now May 2023. We are gearing up for our second season of food trucking. At the beginning of this adventure in January, 2022, I thought I should maybe start a blog about giving up my 25 year teaching career to pursue a life of food truck adventures. That didn't happen! Why? Because starting a new company in something you have NO CLUE about doesn't leave much time to blog about your journey. I have no idea how these professional social media people do it all. They make it sound so simple, and it's NOT!

So as I begin my second year of food trucking, and I am no less busy or clueless as to how I am actually going to be successful, I have decided to take another stab at blogging my journey. My journey is much more than just about buying and running a food truck. It will likely splat all the corners of my life into the space of the world wide web. So buckle up, here we go!!!

Oh yeah, one more thang, Stella will be taking the Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen on the road real soon! Our first booked gig is the New Sarepta Farmers' Market on Tuesday, May 16 4 to 7 pm. We will be there with tasty hot press'd sandwiches & of course fries & poutine!!!!! I hope to debut a new sando and get some feedback : )
